Teaser Tuesday!

So I'm finally posting from my new WIP tentatively named Veering Off the Straight and Narrow. It's about moving out, growing up, accepting yourself and falling in love with your straight best friend.
After I finished up 365, and during, Casey and Nate's voices wouldn't go away but I couldn't get it right. I couldn't figure out what POV and tense to use, what was happening, what the major arcs were, who they were to each other etc etc.
So I skeletoned about 8 chapters and shelved it. Then they came back, yelling at me to write them. I spent a lot of time with my beta going, what about this way? What if this happens? What if I do it from an external POV? What if I have them roadtripping and flashing back to how they fell in love. Thankfully, my brutally honest beta who loved their voices (and understands them just as well as me) shot them all down until we got to the very last option.
And now it's been flying by :)

*thanks guys!*

Lovely imagery as always! I'm so glad you've figured out how to tackle this!

Especially loved this line:

Split second image of eyelashes cradled neatly in hollows of purple skin

This is gorgeous. I love their conversation/interaction. It's really sweet. Your description at the start is ace too.

Wow! This is really beautiful. There's something about your prose that is so heartbreaking even in this one. I think it's because everything is so beautiful and you know it can't stay that way!

You have a real knack for imagery. I love the line mentioned above and the description of the sunrise and the beach reminds me of my Florida days.

Nice teaser!

Love the imagery and the way you describe Casey looking at Nate. It creates a very vivid picture that sticks :)

Sigh.

Vero's got the right word: heart-breaking. Not in a "this is sad" way-- in a "this is beautiful" way! Esp. the descriptions in the beginning. Lovely, as usual.
